Bits & Bytes:
Robot/SCHEDULE can be customized to fit just your needs within scheduling. We have selected a couple of features which know many users can benefit from.
Robot/SCHEDULE tips
RBTBCHUPD is very powerful – how much are you using it? Do you have users, who should not be allowed to access Robot/SCHEDULE but who need to activate a specific job?
Use RBTBCHUPD for this. Use this command to let users who are usually have not entitled to run jobs in Robot/SCHEDULE activate a single defined job. This can be done from a command line or a menu option which activates the specific job as specified, e.g. with a Do or Hold.
This is a handy feature when a user has ad hoc jobs that they need to run multiple times during the day.
Want to Customize Your Forecasts?
The forecast area was strongly enhanced in Robot/SCHEDULE 10. Are you taking advantage of all these improvements?
You can control the forecast by date and time period (number of hours or days), by forecast name (e.g. End of Year), which subsystems to include, and which description you want on the forecast.
Exclude Jobs from a Forecast
If you for some reason want to exclude a job from the forecast this is possible too. Any job on HOLD on the Job Schedule List will not show up in the forecast.
If you want such a particular forecast at regular intervals, then you can achieve this automatically by scheduling a job with the following steps:
1. Hold all jobs that are not desired in the forecast using the RBTBCHUPD command.
2. Run the forecast build
3. Print out the forecast
4. Release all the job held in the first step.
